The Doctor from Bombay
A great fictional read, with a few of Dr Jilani’s experiences in the NHS thrown in there. There's drama, romance, heartbreak, passion, lust, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, and life changing decisions to be made. We follow Saj through the ups and downs of life with loss, grief, and love.

A brilliant and interesting story which is a must read. All characters in the novel are fictional. When Saj arrives in England from Mumbai (Bombay), he is full of hopes and dreams. But the cultural differences mean he struggles to adapt to western life.

His experiences of long working hours in the National Health Service and racial abuse by few of his colleagues shock him. He is pleasantly surprised by the freedom in the western society, compared to India which leads to Saj exploring his sexuality from his first-time experiences through to his more passionate and confident encounters with women.

When he falls in love with Lea, an English nurse, he finds himself in the middle of two worlds. Saj must decide where his heart belongs; with his family back in Bombay, or in England, with the woman he loves.
